The
Legal Lowdown on the information in the UBSCC Mailing List
This mailing
list is provided in the spirit of cooperation and the exchange
of information. It is hoped that this list will become an asset
to all those that have an interest in British cars.
Postings to the
UBSCC MAILING LIST are the opinions of the authors and not necessarily
those of the list moderators or the Officers of the UBSCC. The
list moderators make every effort to screen out false, misleading,
and negative postings, but it is up to you, the reader of the
UBSCC MAILING LIST, to realize that nothing should be taken
as actual fact without reseach and investigation of your own.
Authors of messages to the UBSCC MAILING LIST are also reminded
to consider the ramifications of posting inaccurate information.
While everyone is entitled to their own opinion and the right
of free speech, you still cannot yell "Fire!" in a
crowded theatre. Any maintenance or techniques published in
the UBSCC MAILING LIST should be weighed against conventional,
traditional and generally accepted techniques. The views expressed
are those of the author of the message posted and does not constitute
endorsement of it by the moderators or the Internet Service
Provider(s). Failure to consider any of the above could result
in harm to yourself. The list moderators and the Internet Service
Provider(s) will not assume liability for any such consequences.
Think before you act. Just as opening a software package indicates
your agreement to the terms of the licensing agreement, posting
a message to the UBSCC MAILING LIST, subscribing to either the
"live" or "digest" version, or accessing
the archives indicates that you have read, understand and agree
with the disclaimer above.
The messages
sent to this list constitute private correspondence by and between
members of a closed community. As such, the copyright for EVERYTHING
that ANYONE posts lies with them. PERIOD. This is *NOT* a bulletin
board system, where consent for further redistribution is implied
by nature of the the system; it's PRIVATE. If you wish to use
something written by someone on the list, you must first seek
their permission unless they specifically grant the right in
that specific posting to reprint it at will. And, in general,
it is a VERY GOOD idea to *CREDIT* someone if you use something
by permission "copyright xxxx Joe Schmoe, used by permission"
to keep *SOMEONE ELSE* from screwing up down the line. Remember,
when you read something on this list: what you are reading belongs
to whoever wrote it. They may have plans to publish it further
themselves. They may want to keep it "private" (i.e.
just for list member use). They may not care what gets done
with it. It's still theirs, and before re-use, permission must
be obtained. Please respect people's rights, even if they don't
make a big deal about it.
