TRIUMPHEST 2004 – SOUTH LAKE TAHOE

Triumphest 2004 was held at the Horizon Resort
Hotel in South Lake Tahoe, September 30-October 3 with 223 cars
registered. UBSCC was well represented with 18 cars in attendance.
There were lots of great events to participate in and as a club
we did quite well.
Friday night there was a Western Theme Party and
most of us dressed in some type of appropriate costume. I say
most because Jim "Miss Kitty" Messineo has to be the
worst looking dance hall girl you have ever seen.
Saturday morning was the car show and judging
so we were up early doing our last minute polishing and dusting
in anticipation of an award (we hope) that night at the banquet.
I can only say "WE DONE GOOD". Gold Plus Awards went
to Debbie and Dennis Perry, Jeff Shirhall, Jackie and Gordon
Temple and Janis and Ted Bloxham . Gold Awards went to Jim Messineo,
Katie and Jerry Costanzo, Annabelle and Bill Pugh, Marge and
Tom Fennessy, Clara and Ron Conley, Barbara and Dave Yamamoto,
Janice and Paul Forte and Greg Schuett. Silver Awards went to
Mary Jo and Tom Anderson, Sherry and Bob Byers and Dennis Reidy.
Jackie and Gordon Temple - Peoples Choice for
their beautiful TR 2000.
Greg Schuett - the Oil Spot award – kitty
litter, can of oil and a bucket.
Tom Anderson -1st place in the Pinewood Derby
(finally!)
Debbie and Dennis Perry - 3rd in Walking Rally
Funkana: 1st place Katie and Jerry Costanzo -
2nd place Carolyn and John Westlake friends of Annabelle and
Bill Pugh in Pugh’s TR3A.
J. C. Whitney Award given to the "Tackiest
Triumph" went to none other than our own Jim Messineo just
proving what we have known for years – he is just is a
nice guy with no taste.
Speaking of awards the "Chicken" is returning home
to Jim. It seems that he returned from the rally Saturday afternoon
with the assistance of a tow truck. And if he denies any of
this we have pictures and witnesses to back us up.
If I left anyone out I apologize, it was hard
to hear everything from the back of the room.
